Karin Elmlund is from the tiny island of Tjörn on the west coast outside Gothenburg, Sweden. Tjörn has a rich arts and crafts culture; this, combined with being on an island surrounded by the ocean, has helped Karin to master the armory between colors, light, and reflections.
The artist honors the viewer’s interpretations and imagination by not naming any of her work. She is educated in the art of textiles and painting by HDK, The School of Arts and Crafts in Gothenburg, Sweden, and has honed her skills for 20 years in her creative studio in Gothenburg.
